09/12/2022 | Matt Oswald

MANITOWOC, WI, September 2022 – Stecker Machine Company, a family-owned CNC machine shop with 250+ employees, was recently honored as a 2022 Top Shop for “shopfloor practices & performance” by the editors of Modern Machine Shop.

According to Senior Editor Matt Danford’s announcement to Stecker Machine, “The Honors Program consists of four stand-out shops … you’re a Top Shop — that is, you’re in the top 20% of scores, which requires scoring well in all four categories (technology, shop practices, strategy, and human resources) … we’d like you to represent the ‘shopfloor practices & performance’ category.”

Stecker Machine will accept the award on September 13 in Chicago during the International Manufacturing Technology Show (IMTS) as part of the Top Shops Conference. In addition that day, all 2022 Top Shops honorees will participate in the Job Shops Workshop Day 2 Panel Discussion moderated by Brent Donaldson, Executive Editor of Modern Machine Shop. Representing Stecker Machine will be Matt Oswald, Marketing and Improvement Manager.

“We put a premium on people, so we create work environments and training programs that help them thrive. They, along with smooth-running processes and advanced technology, drive success for our customers,” said Oswald. “Being recognized in Modern Machine Shop for our hard work, and being part of the 2022 Top Shops panel discussion, is a true honor for us.”
